Privacy Policy
Savani Swiss SA ("we", "us", "Savani") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you hold over it under Swiss federal law (LPD/FADP) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1.1 Data We Collect
In the ordinary course of business, we collect only the personal data necessary to fulfil our obligations as a B2B diamond house. This includes:
- Identity data — name, company, professional title, trade licence numbers
- Contact data — email, phone, postal address, secure messaging handles
- Transaction data — parcels viewed, memos signed, invoices issued, payment records
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device, anonymised analytics from our website
- KYC data — passport or trade licence copies, beneficial ownership disclosures (where required by Swiss AML law)
1.2 How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively for legitimate business purposes:
- To respond to inquiries and arrange private viewings
- To fulfil purchase, memo, or consignment orders
- To comply with anti-money-laundering and Kimberley Process obligations
- To send relevant trade communications (inventory updates, market notes) — opt-in only
- To improve our website's functionality through aggregated, anonymised analytics
1.3 Who We Share With
We share your data only when strictly necessary. Recipients may include shipping insurers (Lloyd's underwriters), certified labs (GIA, IGI, HRD), Swiss customs and financial authorities, and our verified payment processors. We do not sell or rent your data to any third party — under any circumstance.
Beyond legal compliance, Savani Swiss treats client identity as a matter of professional honour. Our oldest partners are known to us by name and never appear in any third-party register.
1.4 Data Retention
We retain transaction records for ten years as required by Swiss commercial law. KYC documentation is held for the duration of the relationship plus five years thereafter. Marketing data is deleted within thirty days of an opt-out request.
1.5 Security
All data is stored on encrypted servers located within Switzerland and the European Economic Area. Access is restricted to authorised personnel only, governed by a need-to-know principle and quarterly access audits. Physical KYC files are kept in our Geneva vault.
